While I was battling a sore throat in Pasadena the day before, I had taken enough pain killers and flu medicine to go out for the morning to Santa Monica on my last day in California. It was strange to visit my hometown after not having visited at all in the last 7 years. I found myself doing what tourists do, taking pictures of scenes that I took for granted before like walking on the Santa Monica, which I’d frequently visit in high school.
After that we walked the Promenade and drove down the streets I grew up in Venice, and finished with a bang by stuffing my face at Tito’s Taco’s, quite possible my favorite place for tacos and burritos in LA. You just don’t get Mexican food that delicious in Florida (or New York apparently). I had heard years before that Tito’s sold out with smaller burritos and guacamole from a can but I couldn’t even finish my meal so it didn’t even phase me. :)
