moodboard: pastels

I recently started a new project. Creating moodboards is a new method for me but it’s nice to establish aesthetic boundaries when you’re still in the raw stages of a branding project. I spend so much time collecting images on tumblr, flickr, pinterest, etc. that I figured these accounts should put to good use as reference material instead of just-another-image-collection.

Image sources: blue dress, watercolor, girl with popsicle, feeling feminine, praia piquinia, wallpaper, love print.

Finds: Daniel James Diggle

I was talking with a painter friend just this morning, explaining how I’m obsessed with drawing feathers, hair, and fur by drawing layers and layers for hours, I feel like this type of work is almost therapeutic. Shortly after I get an e-mail from a friend who sent me the work of Daniel James Diggle, a designer and illustrator based in London. A friend of mine told me that his work reminded him of a drawing series I’ve been working on for the past year.

I instantly fell in love with his portfolio. His type explorations are psychedelic. I especially like the shots of his sketches in progress. Look at that detail!
